On January 29, 2026, BJMTR, in collaboration with the National Library of China, launched the 36th edition of the M·Library themed exhibition, "This Stop, Encounter Millennial Hues – Traditional Chinese Colors Exhibition". As one of the series of events celebrating the 20th anniversary of BJMTR's establishment, the exhibition brings the aesthetics of traditional Chinese colors—steeped in millennia of history—into the public space of the metro through innovative concepts and diverse presentation formats. Passengers can now encounter the beauty of traditional culture without stepping out of the metro system, experiencing the profound cultural heritage and artistic charm of Chinese colors amid the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival.
This edition of the event not only features the color exhibition and themed lightbox posters at stations but also introduces, for the first time, an AI-powered reading function. This innovation further enhances the interactive experience and reading quality of the online platform, offering passengers a more enriched and diverse travel experience with multiple layers of engagement.
Frank Liu, General Manager of BJMTR, stated that as a public transportation system, the metro is not only a means of travel but also a window showcasing urban culture. This year marks the 20th anniversary of BJMTR's establishment. Over the years, while providing safe and high-quality travel services to passengers, we have consistently carried out diverse cultural and public welfare projects, enabling the public to experience urban culture and artistic ambiance during their daily commutes. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary, we will collaborate with multiple partners and institutions to integrate resources and launch a series of public welfare activities focusing on themes such as all-age friendliness, youth empowerment, and distinctive culture. The Traditional Chinese Color Exhibition, launched in partnership with the National Library, creates a unique cultural display space within the metro environment by innovatively applying AI-powered reading features, fostering a travel experience that is visually, audibly, and intellectually engaging, thereby offering passengers a richer and more enjoyable immersive journey. In the future, BJMTR will continue to leverage its industry strengths, collaborate with authoritative institutions along its routes, and utilize metro stations as platforms to integrate richer cultural and artistic content, cultivating a more humanistic metro travel environment.
