Beijing Metro Line 14
On November 26, 2014, BJMTR signs the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Concession Agreement for Beijing Metro Line 14 (BJL14) with Beijing Municipal Government, under which BJMTR could invest in, construct and operate Line 14 within the concession period of 30 years. The construction of Line 14 consists of part A (tunnels, station structure etc.) and B (rolling stocks, signaling systems, ticket machines etc.), Beijing Municipal Government is responsible for the investment and construction of part A and BJMTR of part B. The total amount of investment made by BJMTR is 15 billion RMB.
Line 14 is an extra-long L-shaped line in Beijing metro network with a route length of 50.8 km. It is a major metro line that connects transportation hubs, large commercial zones, and residential areas from the southwest to the northeast. Line 14 is the first metro line in Beijing to introduce 6-car type A trains.
The west section of Line 14 (Zhangguozhuang station – Xiju station) opens for trial operation on May 5, 2013 with 7 stations in which Qilizhuang station opens on February 15, 2014.
The east section of Line 14 (Shan'gezhuang station – Jintai Lu station) opens for operation on December 28, 2014, with 12 stations in which Chaoyang Park station opens on December 31, 2016.
On December 26, 2015, the middle section of Line 14 (Beijing South Railway Station – Jintai Lu station) is seamlessly connected to the east section (Jintai Lu station – Shan'gezhuang station) and opens for trial operation in which Pingle Yuan station opens on December 30, 2017.
On December 31,2021, the remaining section of Line 14 (Dongguantou station - Jingfengmen station) opens for operation, with a total of 5 stations. Since then, Line 14 commences full line operation.
