Are you the type who keeps your head down browsing your phone during the daily metro commute, or do you seize the moment to "recharge" your body? To encourage the public to prioritize their physical and mental health during fragmented travel time, BJMTR, together with the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, officially launched the "Together for Health — M Metro · Health" campaign at Taiyanggong Station on Line 17, coinciding with the National Healthy Lifestyle Promotion Month in September.
Centered on the "Three Reductions, Three Healths" concept, the campaign creates an immersive health-themed station and offers diverse online and offline interactions, weaving the ideas of "reducing salt, oil and sugar" and "healthy mouth, healthy weight and healthy bones" into urban public transit spaces, so that health travels alongside passengers every step of the way.
Stepping into the transfer passage at Taiyanggong Station on Line 17, passengers encounter vivid colors, witty slogans and heartwarming mirror photo spots that together form a health-themed space blending science education with playful interaction, turning the commute into a health "charging station" and catching the eye of every passerby.
Beyond that, the transfer passage also incorporates metro micro-exercise experiences, with pillars serving as "micro-coaches" for shoulder and neck stretches, balance exercises and resistance training, enabling passengers to complete a set of simple yet effective micro-exercises in their spare commuting time.
Frank Liu, General Manager of BJMTR, noted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the company. As a metro operator, BJMTR has gone beyond delivering safe and high-quality travel services, continuously tapping into the value of metro public spaces and rolling out the "M Metro" series of public welfare initiatives to create urban travel spaces with distinct BJMTR character. The "Together for Health — M Metro · Health" campaign brings the "Three Reductions, Three Healths" concept into commuting scenarios, encouraging passengers to care for their physical and mental well-being during fragmented travel time. Looking ahead, BJMTR will continue to leverage the strengths of metro public spaces, launch more public welfare and cultural programs close to citizens' lives, and promote the deep integration of Green Travel with healthy living, so passengers can gain more health and happiness along their journeys.
Officials from the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and BJMTR, along with experts in the health field, attended the event and interacted with passengers on site.
