Dongdaqiao Station | Dongyue Ancient Charm

The mural Dongyue Ancient Charm at Dongdaqiao Station was created in October 2011 and was originally located in the concourse of Metro Line 6. Following the implementation of the transfer renovation project at Dongdaqiao Station, the artwork has now been relocated to its current position.Dongyue Temple now serves as the Beijing Folk Museum. The artwork draws inspiration from the traditional cultural elements of Dongyue Temple, blending historical depth with folk customs, and overall carries a simple, rustic, and dignified tone.The mural skillfully employs the artistic language of folk shadow puppetry, vividly recreating the folk cultural landscape of old Beijing.Created by Song Changqing.
