BJMTR takes multiple measures to enhance passengers' travel experience during tomb-sweeping holiday

During the weekend before tomb-sweeping holiday (1 and 2 April) and on the day of tomb-sweeping holiday (5 April), the total patronage of lines  operated by BJMTR is expected to reach 5.209 million. BJMTR will pay close attention to the passenger flow during the peak travel period of tomb-sweeping holiday and take measures such as adding spare trains and extending operation hours to ensure sufficient capacity. At the same time, from March 24, the operation time of the last train from Beijing South Railway station of Line 4 bound for Anheqiao Bei (N) station every Friday and Sunday will be extended to 23:53 to facilitate passengers' travel.

According to the analysis of the passenger flow during the peak period of tomb-sweeping holiday in previous years, it is expected that the passenger flow of Beigongmen station, Yuanmingyuan station, Beijing Zoo station of Line 4-Daxing and Yuyuantan Park East Gate station of Line 16 which is adjacent to the Summer Palace, Old Summer Palace, Beijing Zoo and Yuyuantan Park, and the passenger flow of key stations such as Tiangong Yuan station and Xi Yuan station of Line 4-Daxing near the cemetery will see an increase compared with ordinary weekends.

The 2023 Yuyuantan Cherry Blossom Festival will be held from March 18 to May 10, and it is expected that during this year's Yuyuantan Park Cherry Blossom Festival, the maximum passenger flow of Yuyuantan Park  East Gate station is expected to reach about 56,000, about five times of ordinary weekends.

It is reported that during the cherry blossom season, the travel peak will occur on weekends between late March and mid-April, the outbound peak generally occurs at 10:30-12:30 am and 1:30-3:30 pm, and the inbound peak generally occurs at 1:30-5:30 pm. Passengers are advised to arrange their travel time reasonably and travel at off-peaks.
