During the Spring Festival travel rush, the total patronage of lines operated by BJMTR increased by 29% year-on-year

The Spring Festival travel rush of 2024 starts on January 26 and ends on March 5 with a period of 40 days. During the Spring Festival travel rush, to ensure the safe and smooth travel of passengers, BJMTR has taken various measures to closely monitor the weather and passenger flow, and to make arrangements for train operations and passenger flow guidance at stations with high passenger traffic. Patronage of lines operated by BJMTR totals 67.758 million, seeing an increase of 29% compared with 2023. Among which, Line 4-Daxing account for a total of 31.945 million. Line 14 accounts for a total of 23.983 million and Line 16 accounts for 8.366 million. The southern section of Line 17 accounts for a total of 1.95 million and the northern section of Line 17 accounts for a total of 1.514 million.

During the Spring Festival travel rush, BJMTR strengthens communication with the railway according to the features of passengers flow of Beijing South Railway Station of Line 4, Dongfeng Beiqiao station of Line 14, Fengtai Railway Station of Line 16 to grasp the information to constantly optimizing the capacity and timetable according to the railway passenger flow and train arrival and departure times, especially by enhancing nighttime transfer services. Through significant efforts in extending service hours, BJMTR aims to meet the travel needs of passengers. From January 26 to March 5, Line 4, Line 14 extends service hours for 19 days and Line 4 extends service hours to 2:45 AM at its latest. Line 14 extends by 90 minutes at its latest, and Fengtai Railway Station of Line 16 starts service at 3:00 AM, encouraging more high-speed rail passengers arriving in Beijing to choose the green travel method of metro, which not only provides convenience to passengers but also further alleviates local traffic pressure in the city.
