BJMTR Line 14 launches the "Sense and touch" metro public welfare culture exhibition

On October 15, 2025, the 42nd International Day of Persons with Visual Impairments arrives. In commemoration of this occasion, BJMTR, in collaboration with the Beijing Municipal Committee for the Promotion of Accessible Environment, the Beijing Municipal Center for Cultural and Sports Activities for Persons with Disabilities, the Beijing Municipal Center for Social Security and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, and other organizations, under the guidance of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport and the Beijing Municipal Federation of Persons with Disabilities, launched a public welfare cultural exhibition titled "Sense and touch" at the Zaoying Station on Line 14 of BJMTR.

At the event, over forty works of art, including paintings, photography, and intangible cultural heritage handicrafts created by calligraphers, photographers, and students with visual impairments from the Art Design Department of the Special Education College at Beijing Union University, were exhibited. These works, presented through multi-sensory experiences, offered a unique artistic experience for the audience.

In addition, the event invited representatives of passengers with visual, physical, and hearing impairments to experience the metro's barrier-free services firsthand. This initiative aimed to enhance their understanding of the accessible travel environment within the metro system. Through in-depth exchanges, the metro operators gained further insights into the travel needs of passengers with disabilities, with the goal of continuously improving station services and jointly fostering a warm and inclusive barrier-free travel environment.
