The National Day and Mid-Autumn Day holidays in 2025 will run from Wednesday, October 1 to Wednesday, October 8. During the overlapping National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays this year, BJMTR leveraged its self-developed passenger flow forecast system that integrates various data sources such as gate entry/exit records and passenger traffic to provide holiday-wide and time-slot-specific passenger flow predictions for all 114 stations under its operation. Key stations including those connected to railway stations (such as Line 4-Daxing Line’s Beijing South Railway Station, Line 14’s Beijing South Railway Station, and Line 16’s Fengtai Railway Station) and those near popular commercial areas and attractions (such as Line 4-Daxing Line’s Beigongmen Station and Xidan Station, Line 14’s Jintai Lu Station and Dawang Lu Station, and Line 17’s Workers’ Stadium Station) will dynamically optimize service staffing in critical areas including transfer passages, gates, and platforms during forecasted peak hours. This will enhance passenger guidance, customer service, and emergency response capabilities to improve the passenger travel experience.
To facilitate passengers’temporary storage of belongings during travel, BJMTR has installed 127 storage lockers at stations near railway stations, tourist attractions and commercial districts. The lockers are offered in three sizes—large, medium and small—to meet the storage needs of various items, and passengers can conveniently use them by scanning a QR code with their mobile phones.
BJMTR has introduced peak-hour "dynamic guidance signage" at 26 stations, including Yuanmingyuan Park Station, Peking University East Gate Station, Beijing South Railway Station, and Xihong Men Station on Line 4-Daxing; Jiulongshan Station, Dawang Lu Station, and Jintai Lu Station on Line 14; and Fengtai Railway Station on Line 16. During passenger peaks, staff members hold guidance signs with messages such as "Please queue here" and "Please move forward" in crowded platform areas, complemented by broadcast announcements, to provide real-time crowd management and further enhance passenger throughput efficiency.
During the holiday period, the total patronage of all lines operated by BJMTR is expected to reach 12.294 million. To enhance railway transfer services and facilitate travel for passengers arriving in Beijing at night, BJMTR will extend the last upward-bound train service on Line 4 and Line 14 at Beijing South Railway Station, and open Fengtai Railway Station on Line 16 earlier.
