BJMTR upgrades signage at Xidan Station on Line 4 for a streamlined travel experience

Recently, the signage at Xidan Station on the BJMTR Line 4 has undergone a comprehensive upgrade, offering passengers with a more convenient and user-friendly travel experience. Located in a bustling commercial district, Xidan Station serves an average daily patronage of 116,000 during holidays. The renovation work was guided by actual passenger needs and the structural characteristics of the station, systematically optimizing the signage layout and service details. Improvements were made across three dimensions: signage clarity, information integration, and visual consistency. Statistics show that a total of 104 lightbox signs were optimized, and approximately 135 square meters of wall and floor decals were updated.

BJMTR has introduced large yellow "Passenger Service Guides" on the concourse pillars at Xidan Station, clearly displaying the station's contact information to ensure passengers in need can quickly reach station staff. As an interchange station with Line 1, Xidan Station handles significant transfer passenger flow. The upgrade has focused on enhancing wayfinding signage for transfers, with combined lightbox and wall decal indicators installed at key locations—including platforms, concourses, and transfer passages—to provide clear directional guidance to Line 1. Additionally, "Next Station" information displays have been added above platform screen doors to help passengers quickly confirm train directions and reduce misboarding; QR codes for train schedules are posted on platform doors, enabling passengers to check real-time train information and plan trips efficiently. To improve bus connection efficiency after exiting, BJMTR optimized exit information boards at Xidan Station by relocating bus connection details from the bottom to the top with enlarged fonts, enabling passengers to quickly and clearly access surrounding bus route information upon exit.
