Patronage of lines operated by BJMTR expected to reach 9.925 million during May Day holiday

The May Day holiday in 2023 will start on Saturday, April 29th and end on Wednesday, May 3rd. Based on the passenger flow in previous years, it is predicted that the main passenger flow during the May Day holiday will be travel and shopping. This year, the total patronage of lines operated by BJMTR is expected to increase significantly compared to last year, reaching 9.925 million, which is about 5 times the total patronage during the May Day holiday in 2022.

During the May Day holiday, the patronage of Line 4-Daxing is expected to reach 4.865 million, the patronage of Line 14 is expected to reach 3.54 million, the patronage of Line 16 is expected to reach 1.265 million, and the patronage of Line 17 is expected to reach 255,000. To ensure smooth travel for passengers during the May Day holiday, BJMTR organizes train operations scientifically.  Line 4-Daxing will adopt the timetable of festival, with 3,040 trains to be dispatched. Line 14, Line 16, and Line 17 will adopt the timetable of weekend, with 1,940, 1,340, and 1,400 trains to be dispatched respectively.

BJMTR will pay close attention to the changes of passenger flow, and prepare 2-3 spare trains on the main line of Line 4 from April 29 to May 3, so that additional trains can be added in a timely manner according to actual conditions. In addition, to ensure the smooth transfer to railway station during the May Day holiday and ensure the smooth travel of passengers arriving in Beijing at night, Beijing South Railway Station of Line 4, Beijing South Railway Station and Dongfeng Beiqiao station of Line 14; The operating hours of Fengtai Railway Station of Line 16 will be extended.
