The summer travel season in 2025 starts on July 1st and ends on August 31st, lasting 62 days. During this period, BJMTR carefully organized and meticulously deployed efforts in train operation organization, passenger services, and equipment maintenance to ensure passenger safety and smooth travel. During the summer travel season, the total number of passenger trips transported by lines operated by BJMTR reached approximately 132 million. A total of 132 additional trains were added to ensure smooth passenger travel.
Extended operating service makes travel more convenient
During the summer travel season, in response to the concentrated passenger flow entering and leaving Beijing, BJMTR strengthened the connection services between Beijing South Railway Station on Lines 4 and Line 14, Fengtai Railway Station on Line 16, and the railway stations. They actively collaborated with the railway department, adjusting and continuously optimizing the allocation of metro capacity based on real-time railway passenger dynamics and train arrival and departure information. From July 1 to August 31, BJMTR extended its operating hours for 10 days, transporting over 6,000 passengers, providing convenient metro travel options for passengers arriving in Beijing at night.
Thoughtful service measures enhance travel experience
During the summer travel season, BJMTR continues to provide various thoughtful services at railway transfer stations and stations near tourist attractions and commercial areas. At stations connected to train stations, BJMTR offers real-time guidance services, luggage carts, convenience kits, and signboard navigation to provide humanized services. At stations near tourist attractions and commercial areas, BJMTR sets up directional cards and translation devices to meet passengers' needs comprehensively, making travel more convenient.
Ensuring travel safety through flood and heat prevention
This year, Beijing faces the dual challenges of high temperatures and heavy rainfall. BJMTR actively responds by taking multiple measures to ensure passenger safety and smooth travel. During the period of heavy rainfall, each station strictly adhered to the "one station, one map, one plan" approach, providing flood control materials, including flood barriers, disposable raincoats, drainage pumps, emergency generators, and rescue vehicles, totaling 850,000 pieces. Disposable raincoats were promptly distributed to passengers. In response to the sweltering heat, stations have been stocked with heatstroke prevention supplies, and staff have provided timely assistance to passengers experiencing physical discomfort.
