The first contactless elevator unveiled at Beijing South Railway station of Line 4 by BJMTR to further enhance passenger travel experience

As the New Year's Day holiday approaches, BJMTR continues to strengthen epidemic prevention measures by applying new technologies to further ensure the safety of passengers. Contact-free buttons have been installed on the elevators in Beijing South Railway station of Line 4 on a pilot basis. It is reported that this is the first time for Beijing rail transit stations to use contactless button on  elevators, which can be triggered by sensors to control the operation of the elevator and achieve contact-free during the whole journey, providing passengers with a safer travel experience.

The button has two functions: press trigger and sensor trigger. The button function can be triggered when the finger is about 2cm away from the button, so that the elevator can be operated by floor selection, door opening and closing, and elevator calling, without pressing and touching the button during the whole process. The sign "Sensor button, contact-free" is posted beside the buttons inside and outside the elevator to remind passengers that they can take the escalator without contact.
