Preparations underway for the opening of new stations in the middle section of Line 16 operated by BJMTR

The middle section of Line 16 operated by BJMTR starts from Xi Yuan in the north and ends at Ganjiakou in the south, with a route length of 11 km. At present, the middle section of Line 16 is undergoing various preparatory work before its opening. Line 16 is a north-south backbone of Beijing's rail transit network. The north section of Line 16 (Bei'anhe-Xi Yuan) opened by the end of 2016. The average daily patronage is expected to reach around 270,000 after the seamless connection of the middle and north section, which will facilitate the transportation of residents along the line and ease the traffic pressure on Yuanmingyuan West Road and Wanquanhe Road.
